The Shakespeare Code reveals the story of codes concealed in the works of Shakespeare and other writers of his time. For over 250 years the codes were undiscovered. More than one person suffered severly for daring to speak the secrets they contain.

The codes reveal an explosive story--the hidden marriage of Elizabeth, the "Virgin Queen," murder and scandal, corruption and lies at the highest levels. And they tell the true life-story of Francis Bacon, the one who devised the codes.

The secret history could not be told in Bacon's own time, so he concealed it in code, hoping for a future when it would be discovered, when men could be free to speak and know the truth.

I have been studying the authorship controversy around Shakespeare now for over 20 years. I have collected many books on the subject The Shakespeare Code stands out as approachable, readable an excellent step in the right direction. The real issue in all of this has been the undeniable breathtaking genius of Francis Bacon. This Genius is, in fact, visible even in the works written under “Francis Bacon”. The suppression of the appreciation due Francis Bacon can only be laid at the feet of the secret societies that he helped (ironically) to found. No other ongoing power could as effectively suppress the obvious connection between Shakespeare and Bacon. As early as 1780, the first journalist who tried to dig out a biography of the actor from Stratford, concluded that no it was not the Stratfordian but Francis Bacon who wrote Shakespeare. Academics are the main players trying to stop popular understanding of Bacon’s role in so much of what we see around us. I don’t know why, I have spent endless hours arguing with them to no avail. Maybe it is because it was uncovered by non-academics, even god forbid, a non-academic woman! Thank you Virginia Fellows for an excellent book, I would love to see this cypher wheel, the next time I am near Gardiner Montana.

The Shakespeare Code eBook Virginia M Fellows Reviews

Well written. Fascinating story.
incredibly interesting
This book is written in a entertaining style. It is more about the life of Francis Bacon and his contemporaries that Shakespeare. The proposition the Bacon wrote the plays of Shakespeare is well supported by circumstantial evidence and the insight of three different codes that have been discovered in the plays and in Bacon's journals. The machination of the Elizabethan period are well documented, including the idea that Bacon and Essex were both children of Elizabeth. As most things about the Elizabethan period, it makes for fascinating reading.
This book is a very readable and interesting introduction to the century old belief that Francis Bacon wrote the plays attributed to Shakespeare, and the book is actually a biography of the secret birth and secret life of Francis Bacon, and only incidentally about Shakespeare. However, it is written in a popular style, and not in a scholarly manner, although there are endnotes and a good bibliography, and this book would be most useful to someone who has not yet read any other books about this subject. As a previous reviewer stated, the weakest historical aspect of this biography book is its dependence upon the allegedly secret codes, of more than one type, hidden in the writings of Shakespeare and other writers of the time of Francis Bacon, secret codes deciphered by earlier researchers and earlier book authors, secret codes which the "establishment" denies as either existing or historically valid. However, I own a few other books and have read several other books written about Francis Bacon as Shakespeare, and I myself have found additional hidden evidence of Francis Bacon in the writings of Shakespeare, which previous researchers evidently had not found or had not published. Fifty years ago, previous code cryptoanalysis experts denied the existence of secret codes in Shakespeare. The alleged Bi-Literal code method, described by Francis Bacon in one of his books, is very difficult to decipher in Shakespeare, due to very small differences in the code's required two font styles. Unfortunately, the previous decoder in her century old book did not explain in detail the exact location of the code sequences in Shakespeare, which is a prerequisite for decipherment. In my opinion, modern computer high resolution optical scanning of the Shakespeare First Folio manuscripts and modern code breaking highspeed computer algorithm analysis of the alleged Bi-Literal code textual fonts could possibly prove the existence of this one of the secret code methods. Perhaps someone at the CIA or NSA would be interested in the challenge to produce exactly detailed evidence of the code. There is supposedly more secrets not yet deciphered. There is also another secret code method used, which does not require the use of two different fonts, but by keyword associations, which does not require the use of the original 17th century publication books such as the First Folio of Shakespeare.
We have a winner here. What a shame there isn't more on the bookshelves! Well done Ms. Fellows. Please tell me there's more to come? T.D.R., Chesapeake, VA
Interesting book. Read more book. Even though I still no sure if Shakespeare’s the real author or not. Lol
Excellent book for those interested in understanding the higher purpose Shakespeare fulfilled dictated by his spiritual need.
